Welcome to Informed & Employed
A community for healthcare professionals that want to work in healthcare technology.
Hi, my name is Jaclyn. I’ve recently been laid off, making this my second layoff in two years in the behavioral health tech space. This has made me want to reinforce an important truth: our professional community is our greatest asset.
Many of my LinkedIn connections know me from my time building Therapists in Tech, where I successfully grew a Slack community of mental health professionals to 3,400 members in less than two years through the support of my network, carefully curated social media content, networking, and the development of career-related programs such as mentoring. Through this, I witnessed firsthand the power of bringing professionals together online. Although my chapter there ended in 2023, my passion for community building remains strong.
These recent experiences have inspired me to launch Informed & Employed, a new online community for healthcare professionals navigating the healthcare technology landscape. As a clinical social worker with 12 years in healthcare (including 5 years in health tech), I understand the unique challenges we face when bridging these worlds.
Why now?

Like many others, I have been impacted by layoffs in the healthcare sector over the past two years. There are very few professional communities specifically focused on healthcare technology and job opportunities. Relying solely on applying to jobs found on LinkedIn is not an effective strategy for landing your dream job or any job.
I noticed a chance to create something valuable: a space to share job leads, make trusted connections, and support one another through career transitions.
The reality of today's job market is that we might need to be flexible (you might have to work a hybrid or in-office job, guys) and strategic. But that doesn't mean compromising on our worth or potential. It means being smart about how we navigate these career streets together.
If you're a healthcare professional interested in or already working in health tech, I invite you to join us. Whether you're actively job searching, happily employed but curious about what's next, wanting to help others find work, or expanding your professional network, there's a place for you in this community.

I’m not sure I’ll write a newsletter every week. If I do, I’ll bring an update regarding the community's growth and jobs. However, I am 100% focused on expanding my network, landing my next full-time job, and helping my network do the same. So, I’ll see you when I see you. Reach out if I can help you or if you have feedback or questions.
This took a lot of courage, so if you have made it this far, thank you.
